English Tourism Week - Cornish Favourites by Louise Blenkinsop, Receptionist

With it being English Tourism Week from 30th March - 7th April, our team are sharing our part of England and all our favourite things that Cornwall has to offer. Louise Blenkinsop, one of our receptionists, shares her favourite parts of the county, from Padstow down past Penzance.

Favourite beach

St George’s Cove in Padstow. I grew up holidaying in Padstow and I love the Camel Estuary

Favourite dog walk

I live in Newlyn, so the walk over to either Mousehole or Marazion are both our absolute faves. It's lovely because you get to see St Michael's Mount all the way around.

Favourite dog-friendly restaurant/café

I like the Godolphin, out of season, because it's spacious for my nervous rescue dog Piper

Favourite place for outdoor theatre

Penlee Park Open Air Theatre! It’s a hidden gem with fantastic performances

Favourite attraction

The National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, it has a great section where you are under the water and it's really interesting to feel like your on the seabed. Also, the café is awesome. And they do banging weddings!

Favourite Cornish food

That’s really hard because in Newlyn there are four amazing things to eat… Saffron buns at Warrens, pasties from Aunty May’s, ice cream from Jelbert’s and fish and chips from Lewis’. It’s a good day if you do ALL four!

Favourite fish dish

Crab nachos with Newlyn crab.

Favourite local produce

Camel Valley Brut, so tasty - especially with a straw. They also do vineyard tours which is a nice touch.
