Activities

Whatever the season, Cornwall has plenty to see and do, especially for those who want to get active and enjoy the great outdoors.

Stand Up Paddleboarding

Experience the expanse of the bay from the water on a stand up paddleboard with Ocean High, whether it is paddling around the iconic St Michael's Mount or following the coastline to secret coves.

Swimming

Marazion has an expansive sandy beach, ideal for swimming and rock pooling, with RNLI lifeguards overseeing the beach in the summer season. Nearby indoor leisure pools include Penzance Leisure Centre, and Wheal Rodney, Marazion. The Jubilee Pool, Penzance's 1920s saltwater lido, is also a great place for families to bathe.

Walking

The Godolphin Arms is perfectly situated to explore the South West Coast Path, with Penzance in one direction, and in the other, the Lizard. With the coast abundant with food to forage, join Wild Food Walks and see what nature has to offer.

Cycling

A new cycle path has been completed linking Marazion with Penzance and creates a breathtaking cycle path around Mounts Bay. Hire a bike from Land's End Cycle Hire at Long Rock – a 10-minute walk from the Godolphin Arms.

Surfing

Cornwall is well known for its surf culture and is a great place to learn the sport. Local surf schools and surf equipment hire can be found at both Sennen beach, Smart Surf School, and Gwithian beach, Gwithian Academy of Surfing

Painting

Newlyn School of Art is a dynamic and innovative art school situated in the heart of the famous artistic colony of Newlyn and provides a wide range of high quality and exciting art courses in disciplines such as painting, drawing, printmaking, pottery, stone carving and art history; all taught by some of the most well-known artists working in Cornwall today.
