Sand Rose Fundraising Event
The Godolphin Arms does a lot of fundraising for local charities and this Saturday 7 June 10am - 12 midday, we are having a Coffee Morning to raise funds for the Sand Rose Project.
Saturday 7 June 2014
10am – 12 midday
The Sand Rose Project
Based in Cornwall, Sand Rose, as a national charity extends to all local authority areas in England and Wales. Sand Rose provides free breaks to the bereaved, with particular emphasis on young families. Sand Rose understands how painful it is when a child dies or for children to experience the loss of a parent. The family is changed forever. Sand Rose helps such families adjust and become more able to cope with their loss. Sand Rose offers one or two week breaks in Marazion, Cornwall, but can also offer short breaks if needed. Each of the three cottages sleeps 4, and larger families can use adjacent cottages.
Tea and Coffee will be served throughout the morning at £1 per cup – with all proceeds going to the Sand Rose. There will also be two hampers raffled in the morning - £1 a strip.
The St Michael’s Mount Gourmet Hamper is valued at £70 and includes fudge, chocolate, biscuits, wine, mugs, tea-towel, cloth bound notepad, and other treats presented in a two-tiered cake stand.
The Godolphin Arms Hamper, which is sponsored by St Austell Brewery includes a digital camera, beer and bottles of wine, a voucher for an 18 hole round of golf at Lostwithiel, amongst other goodies.
The Apollo Male Voice Choir will be in attendance and provide some rich tunes to entertain.
The Coffee Morning fundraising target is £1400.00 which will pay for new linen in the Sand Rose Marazion cottages. We would like to invite everyone to join us and and raise money for this most important local charity.
